Performance Guidelines • No Profanity-this is an all-ages family venue • Please respect the other performers- Most people come out to not only display their talent but to see other people to perform as well. Please be courteous and give them the attention you yourself would expect. • Playground Music Center’s Open Mic Nite is intended to be a showcase of musical talents, it is not a comedian’s or poet’s open mic night. • This is an event for all musical talents, ages, and types. All instrument types musical genres are welcomed. • This is not Karaoke -Vocalist are welcomed to sing a-cappella or with a self produced pre-recorded track, singing along to a store bought CD is not what open mic nite is about. • A PA System and mics are provided, as well as guitar & bass amps, a drum-set and piano or keyboard will also be made available for those performers that will need them. • Performers will be allowed 2 songs or 10 minutes- whichever comes first • When your turn comes, be ready to perform... if not you will be bumped to the end of the list. • When it is your turn to play be tuned and ready...delays in set-up time comes out of your performance time • All solo, duos, trios, and small band acts are all encouraged to perform. Sign-up and Registration • Performance time slots will be assigned by random drawing the night of the performance. • Performers can sign up HERE or in-store at Playground Music Center • Time slot drawing will begin at 7:15 p.m. – You must be present at time of drawing...no “phone-in’s” allowed. • Performers holding a “RAINCHECK” from previous open mic nights should inform the host at the counter to bypass the drawing and get first choice of time slot. • Please sign up only once- Tom & Jerry should not sign up as Tom with Jerry and also as Jerry with Tom. We want to ensure that everyone has a fair chance at a slot, not to discourage folks backing up other performers. If in doubt, ask the host. • Performers will get to choose one of the 9 time slots as their names are drawn. • Names will not be added to the jar after the drawing has begun, late comers may wait until after the initial drawing to claim any remaining slots. • After all 9 slots are filled those names remaining in the jar may request a rain check to guarantee a slot at the next regularly scheduled Playground Music Center open mic nite.
